Being a mom is like being a caretaker, cheerleader, financial expert, chef, rock, a teddy bear and amongst other roles all in one.
Here are four quick daily routine tips for all the amazing moms out there.
- Make sure your child gets enough quality sleep
No matter what age your child is, it’s a no brainer that we need to make sure they’re getting enough quality sleep. It’s not that we don’t know this fact, but often that we get caught up with doing activities or something comes up that we push back their bedtime. It helps me to schedule things ahead at least two hours to end before bedtime to ensure clean up and whine down time.
- Wake up earlier than the child
Why wake up earlier than your child? You’d be amazed at how many tasks you can get done before the party starts. I usually grab a cup of coffee or tea and get on to business. I get to do my writing, reply to emails, outline tasks and workflows for my team and carve out things for the family. Even though I do plan things ahead, I still leave some room for unexpected adventures and spontaneous moments to blend in with my day.
- Carve out time for short exercise
This is something I strive to do more because I know it’s healthier for me. At some point in life, we must recognize that without our health we really have nothing. It doesn’t matter if we want to work, be active in our kids’ lives, and do all these things we’d like if we are not healthy enough to do them. One great way to stay healthier is to fit in short exercise times if you can’t plot in longer exercise sessions.
- Enjoy breakfast together
What a great way to start the day together! My kids and I usually make breakfast together and for the past few weeks I haven’t been able to due to a change in schedule. Although this was temporary, it made me realize how important enjoying breakfast together truly is. We laugh about whatever as we make waffles, pancakes, toast, oatmeal and sometimes even eat leftovers. We share the food, and we share about what’s ahead.
Remembering these quick mom tips has sure kept me in check at times and I hope that it will be helpful to you as well. Have any tips to share with other moms? We’d love to hear them! Leave a comment below or send us an email!
