Little Engineer Course Description
Little Engineer
In this course, students will be introduced to a range of engineering concepts to introduce them to key concepts, such as strong structures, how systems work and product design. We will support learners to gain new knowledge and understanding and help them work on solutions to key problems.
The Little Engineer lessons include the opportunity for students to work through the design thinking process to support with product design and identifying solutions to problems. We will introduce to each little learner new subject knowledge, new vocabulary, and important concepts, such as how to build strong bridges and how to lift a heavy load.
To support the learners’ understanding of engineering, they will engage in a range of hands-on learning activities. The lessons also support inquiry into engineering, rather than specific right and wrong answers to support learners to develop confidence and take risks to try new things!
It is expected that parents will support their child in these sessions, particularly with some of the trickier techniques. This helps to make our lessons great fun for both younger students who will require a bit more adult help, to older students who can work more independently and ensures every child leaves the lesson with a better understanding of these important concepts!
